Today, March 8, 2021, International Women’s Day, we are honored to present a testimony from Professor Marilda Antonia de Oliveira Sotomayor to our group – Brazilian Women in Economics. A world reference in the field of Game Theory, she has been a Fellow of the Econometric Society since 2003 and was elected as a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2020 in Class III – Social Sciences and Section 2 – Economics, in addition to receiving numerous other awards and honors throughout her career. Professor Marilda tells us about her fantastic academic and personal trajectories, showing that beyond being brilliant and courageous, she combines a lot of ‘dedication and creativity’ when dealing with many challenges that have appeared throughout her career.
